DIPLOMAT DISTRIBUTORS (D.D) CYPRUS LIMITED registered under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus with registration number 286543 (hereinafter: the “Company“) respects the privacy of the users of the website (hereinafter, jointly: the “User” or the “Users“) that it manages and operates at the address: https://www.diplomat-global.com/cyprus/ (hereinafter: “the Website“). The Company belongs to a group of companies where the headquarters are located at the State of Israel (hereinafter: the “Diplomat Group”).  

 

This privacy policy and the Cookies Policy (hereinafter, jointly: the “Privacy Policy“) regulate the manner by which the Company uses the information it collects on the Website. 

  

The information provided below is intended to help the user understand the privacy policy of the Company on the Website. The Privacy Policy, as detailed below, will clarify the information that the Company collects about the users of the Website, the purposes for which the Company collects the information, the use made by the Company of the information, the third parties to which the Company will transfer information and how the Company handles and saves the information.  

 

The information that the user provides to the Company depends on the user’s consent and will and does not result from a legal obligation. The information will be kept in the Company’s database for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy. The use of the Website and/or the services offered by the Company within the Website indicate the user’s consent to this Privacy Policy and that the information will be stored and managed in the aforesaid database. The information in the database will be used in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Policy or according to the provisions of any law, for the purposes detailed below.  

 

This privacy policy is written in the masculine form only for convenience and should be seen as referring to the feminine form as well.

In this policy, the term “information” means any information collected by the Company or provided to it by the user or any person on his behalf, as part of the user’s use of the Website or the services included therein, including personal data by which the user can be identified, as well as information protected according to with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”), the Protection of Natural Persons Against the Processing of Personal Data and the Free Movement of such Data Law 125 (I) 2018, and the Electronic Communications and Postal Services Law N112(I)/2004.

  1. Information received from the Company in connection with the services provided by the Company; 
  1. When the user requests to join the Company’s distribution list (newsletter);

  1. The information that the Company collects about the user  

 

The Company will collect, about the users, the information detailed below (in whole or in part): 

  1. Full name; 
  1. ID number;  
  1. Telephone;  
  1. Mobile phone;  
  1. Email; 
  1. Date of birth;  
  1. Information about professional experience, including resume;  
  1. Details and history of purchases made by the user;  
  1. Any additional information that the user submits to the Company and/or is received by the Company in connection with the user and the use of the website.

To help you understand how we handle your personal information, below is a summary of the data protection principles which guide how we use your personal information. These principles provide that personal data should be: 

  • Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way; 
  • Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes; 
  • Relevant to the purposes we have told you about and limited only to those purposes; 
  • Accurate and kept up to date; 
  • Kept only as long as necessary for the purposes we have told you about; and 
  • Kept securely. 

 We have put policies, procedures and standards in place to seek to adopt these principles in our everyday processing activities set out in this Privacy Notice 

 

  1. Why does the Company collect the information and the use the Company makes of the information (“the Purposes”)?  

 

The Company collects information about the user for all or any of the following purposes: 

  1. For and in connection with the provision of the services provided by the Company or anyone on person its behalf; 
  1. In order to allow the User to carry out the actions through the Website;  
  1. For the development and operation of the Website;  
  1. For the maintenance of the Website and monitoring the user’s activity therein; 
  1. To improve the quality of services provided by the Company 
  1. In order to establish contact with the user, including in connection with his candidacy for a position at the Company or an inquiry he sent to the Company 
  1. For the purpose of providing compensation to the user, as required;  
  1. For the purpose of documenting the user’s calls and inquiries, including for the purpose of monitoring the handling of the inquiry;  
  1. To the extent that the user applies for a position, in order to analyze the user’s profile and examine his suitability for the position;  
  1. For the purpose of analysis, research, compilation of statistical data and transfer of information, including statistical or other, to third parties; 
  1. To conduct surveys among users;  
  1. For the purpose of presenting and adjusting ads that will be presented to the users, including but not limited to the Internet, and that may match their preferences;  
  1. Analyzing profiles of Website users for the purpose of marketing products, including but not limited to the Internet; 
  1. For the Company’s internal needs;  
  1. To defend against lawsuits, demands and claims against the Company and any person on its behalf, as well as against third parties; 
  1. To enforce the provisions of the terms of use and this Privacy Policy; 
  1. In order to comply with the provisions of any applicable law;

In addition, the Company makes use of non-identifying information collected by various technological means, including for the purpose of operating the Website, in order to facilitate the use of the Website, for the purpose of statistical tests in connection with the use of the Website and more, as detailed in Section 9 of the Privacy Policy below.  

 

  1. Transfer of the information 

   

Any transfer of personal data is subject to the below provisions:  

 

  1. The Company will not transfer or provide information to third parties, except as specified in the Privacy Policy. 
  1. The transfer of information to third parties will include only relevant information that does not exceed the purposes for which the information is transferred and will be carried out in a proportionate manner for a defined, explicit and legitimate purpose.

The Company may transfer personal data outside of the European Economic Area, such as, to additional companies in the Diplomat Group, including business units of the Group that are located outside the Republic of Cyprus, as well as third parties that provide the Company with various services, including support services for security systems and information technology (IT) systems, information storage services, website construction services, survey and research services, companies that transfer compensations and monetary vouchers from the Company, lawyers or other external professional consultants, as well as other third parties that provide the Company with services in connection with its activity. As such, we and the services providers may transfer your personal data to, or process it in, jurisdiction outside the European Economic Area. We will take the necessary steps to ensure adequate level of protection in the jurisdiction in which they are processed.   
  1. If the Company receives an order, including a judicial order, by which it is instructed to provide the user’s details or information about the user in accordance with the provisions of any law.  
  1. In any dispute, claim, demand, claim or any legal proceedings between the user or anyone on his behalf and the Company or anyone on its behalf. 
  1. In the event of a transfer and/or sale and/or check and/or purchase, of the Company and/or its assets and/or any part thereof, whether or not for consideration, including in cases in which the ownership of the Website and/or its contents, entirely or partially, are transferred, to third parties, including but not limited to the case of merger of the Company and/or its activities with third parties, and including, without derogating from the generality of the aforesaid, in cases of a change of control, full or partial, over the Company. 
  1. If a claim is raised or the Company suspects that a user has committed an act and/or omission that might harm the Company, any person on its behalf, or any third parties, including other users. 
  1. If a claim is raised or the Company suspects that a user is using the Website for the purpose of committing an illegal act and/or to enable, facilitate, assist and/or encourage the commission of such an act.  
  1. In any case the Company believes that providing the information is required to prevent damage to the Company, the user or any third party.  

 

  

  1. We will at all times take appropriate steps to ensure that such transfers of personal data are in accordance with applicable law and carefully managed to protect your privacy rights and interests. To achieve this, we will: 
  • Ensure transfers within the Group are covered by an intra-group data sharing agreement entered into by all relevant entities within the Diplomat Group, which contractually obliges each member to ensure that personal information receives an adequate and consistent level of protection. 
  • When transferring personal data to third parties outside the State of Israel and EU/EEA: 
  • We will ensure that there are appropriate safeguarding mechanisms in place or Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure that your information is safeguarded; or 
  • Ensure that the transfer is on the basis of an adequacy decision to a country that it has been deemed ‘adequate’ by the European Commission. 
  1. Information security 

  

  1. The Company uses technical and physical measures regarding privacy and information security in accordance with accepted standards. As known, the storage and transmission of information by electronic means, including through the Internet, can never be completely safe and at any time the user submits information to the Company, in particular through the Internet, the user does so with full consent and subject to the dangers involved in the transmission of information by this manner. 
  1. The Company does not guarantee that the Website will be completely immune from unauthorized access to the information stored therein. In any case, if the user has reason to believe that the transfer of the information to the Company is no longer safe, please inform us by contacting us through the contact details in Section 16 of the Privacy Policy.  

 

  1. Information retention period 

 

The Company will keep the information about the user for the period of time necessary to ensure the purposes detailed in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.  

 

  1. Information regarding other people 

 

If the user provides information to the Company regarding other people, including his family members and other third parties, the user must do so only after: (a) the user has informed the third parties about the content of this Policy; and (b) the user received the required consent for the collection, use, disclosure and transfer of information about the third party in accordance with this Policy and in accordance with the provisions of the law, as required.  

 

  1. Your Rights:  

You have the following rights regarding the processing of your personal information: 

  • Request access to your personal data. This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you as well as information about how your personal data will be processed and the legal basis for the processing. 
  • Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you.  
  • Request deletion of your personal data. You can ask us to delete or remove personal data. We may not be able to fulfil your request if we have other legal reasons that require us to hold your data. 
  • Right to object to processing of your personal data where we are relying on a legitimate  
  • Request restriction of processing of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of your personal data for the following reasons:  

(a) If you want us to establish the data’s accuracy. 

(b) Where our use of the data is unlawful but you do not want us to erase it. 

(c) Where you need us to hold the data even if we no longer require it as you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. 

(d) You have objected to our use of your data but we need to verify whether we have overriding legitimate grounds to use it. 

  • Request the transfer of your personal data to you or to a third party.  
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your personal data. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain products or services to you.

12.1 We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files that are downloaded onto your device when you visit a website. The cookies on our website records minimal personal data for the purposes of analysis, to help us understand of how people use our website.  

12.2 If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. 

 

12.3 If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. 

 

12.4 When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select Remember Me, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

  1. Applicable law and jurisdiction 

  

  1. The conditions and provisions detailed in the Privacy Policy, as well as any changes or amendments thereof, as well as the use of the Website, will be regulated according to the laws of the Republic of Cyprus without reference to the applicable choice of law clauses thereof. 
  1. Jurisdiction in connection with any dispute and/or claim that may arise in connection with the use of the Website and this Privacy policy or related thereto is vested exclusively with the courts of Cyprus. 

 

  1. Changes and updates 

 

The Company is entitled, at its sole discretion, to change the Privacy Policy from time to time, without the need to provide a notice or warning thereof. The latest privacy policy published on the Website will bind the user. The user’s continued use of the Website after the privacy policy has been updated will constitute the user’s consent to the updated privacy policy, including changes.

  1. The user may not transfer his rights and/or obligations according to this privacy policy to another person. The Company may transfer its rights and/or obligations to another person. 
  1. This privacy policy does not derogate from any right granted to the Company and/or any person on its behalf under any law.
