Finance Manager Commercial - Finance Department - Gauteng

Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the role of Finance Manager Commercial based in Gauteng, Johannesburg. This position will report to the Deputy CEO.

Key Responsibilities
To oversee the effective management of the commercial accounting function in the Diplomat SA business. This needs to be in compliance with best practice, contractual commitments, legal requirements, policy and procedure and ethical business practice.

To support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in meeting the core Finance Commercial Objectives which include staff management and development, budgetary controls, implementation of and compliance with effective internal controls, policies and all related accounting procedures that ensure quality financial/commercial analysis and reporting, optimal working capital, effective business controls and sustainable profitable growth.
  • Implement, upgrade and maintain a robust ABC system including standard costs/rate cards.
  • Completeness and accuracy of Cost of goods accounting.
  • Management and control of TM1.
  • Timeous and accurate costing of projects including new business.
  • Automation and integration of data inputs/keys/drivers etc. to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Monthly/Quarterly review of variances to standard with key stakeholders with appropriate corrective action.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue and all its components: Sales, Trading Terms, Promotional spend.
  • Work with Key Account and Trade Marketing Team on improving commercial process -Trade Terms, Promo spend.
  • Ensure prompt collection of outstanding Debts and authorisation and processing of Trading term and promotional claims.
  • Understand, manage and achieve the needs of internal and external customers
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of and compliance with effective internal controls, policies and procedures in areas of responsibility.
  • Facilitate the annual budget process: Prepare timetable, issue instructions, co-ordinate inputs and reviews and finalise submissions.

Position Requirements

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Role is to implement the Tier 3, Sub-D / Main Market strategy at retail level. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure targeted Coverage, Sales, Distribution and Retail Presence Objectives are met. The channel is a must win channel and of strategic importance to the Company and its principals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistent development and updating of the Retail Outlet Universe Data base.
  • Consistent achieving of Coverage, Sales, Numeric Distribution & In Store Communication objectives.
  • Achieving of the Trade coverage plan.
  • On time reporting and completion of daily Administration Objectives.
  • Implementation of all merchandising initiatives according to determined standards.
  • Responsible for all company resources on a daily basis i.e. Vehicles, POS, Merchandising material, stock, mobile phone.

Key Responsibilities

Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the role of Key Account Manager (Walmart) in Commercial Department - based in Gauteng. This position will report to the Channel Manager - Walmart.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiation of required Trading Terms with Trade Partners.
  • Ensure Trading Term Requirements are linked to the costing schedule and budgets.
  • Maintain good client communication, including regular meetings and ensure contact matrix formats are maintained - formal account reviews. (ongoing feedback to Head of Commercial).
  • On-going engagement with Multi National, of whose product is represented, by means of New Product Innovation, Promotional Periods and Promotional Grids per Account, Opposition Activities and Innovation.

(X4) TRUCK DRIVERS - CODE 10 - OPERATIONS - GAUTENG

Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the roles of (X4) Truck Drivers - Code10 in the Operations division based in Gauteng. The positions will report to the respective Distribution Controller in the region.

Key Responsibilities

To ensure that the right order is delivered to the correct customer within the required delivery time frame. Also ensuring a high level of customer service, as well as the completion of all administration to ensure route closure.

Delivery Service:
  • The Driver will be responsible for the entire load - including stock, pallets and returns from the customer.
  • The Driver will ensure that he follows the given routes to meet all On Time Deliveries. All deviations must be reported to Diplomat and that all documentation is signed back.
  • Will ensure all returns are uplifted from the customer and returned to Diplomat for debriefing.
Asset Management:
  • The vehicle is the responsibility of the Driver, thus he must ensure all daily check sheets are compared, faults reported and rectified. The Driver must also notify Diplomat of any service or licensing require-ments for his vehicle.
  • The Driver must ensure that his vehicle securely loaded and locked / sealed before departing for delivery.
Route to Market:
  • The Driver must ensure that he follows the route plan and trip sheet. Feedback must be given on the plan to ensure RoadNet optimization.
  • Any delays or deviations on route must be reported to Diplomat.
  • The Driver must ensure that his vehicle is securely loaded and locked / sealed before departing for delivery.
Customer Service:
  • It is the Driver's responsibility to ensure both he/she and the crew member are dressed in a presentable manner when delivering to a customer.
  • The Driver will be the face of Diplomat and thus will be responsible for greeting the customer and all the introductions. All communication will be through the Driver dur-ing the delivery.
  • The Driver will handle all queries, requests or complaints from the customer and en-sure that the customer is satisfied after the delivery.
  • The Driver will communicate any issues from customers or with the deliveries back to Diplomat immediately and reconfirm these at the time of debriefing.
Administration:
  • Ensure all documentation is correctly signed, stamped and dated when delivering to various customers.
  • All documentation to be checked before departing for delivery and completion of delivery.
  • To ensure fuel cards, keys and locks are correctly signed out and returned upon arri-val back at the yard. All fuel slips to be returned with fuel cards.
  • Ensure all pallet slips are accurately recorded and returned for accurate record keeping.
  • Ensure all traffic violations and fines are reported immediately to Diplomat.
  • Ensure all POD's or Uplifts are returned once delivery has been completed.
  • All vehicle inspection sheets are correctly filled and handed in daily.

Revenue Analyst - Finance Department - Gauteng
Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the role of Revenue Analyst based in Meadowdale, Gauteng. The position will report to the Revenue Management Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities
To provide timeous and effective financial analysis and control of the revenue stream to enable effective decision making, control and budget management, in particular for promotional spend and trading terms.
  • Establish and maintain financial control measures and analysis tools relating to Sales, Trade Marketing and Commercial functions.
  • Identify, investigate, highlight and comment on relevant trends and variances.
  • Engage in projects aimed at improving ROI relevant to required key performance areas (promo spend, category, channel and customer profitability).
