OUR STORY

The Diplomat Group originated as a private label razorblade factory established in 1963 in the Galilee city of Upper Nazareth. The plant was the brainchild of Robert Mandel, an American businessman who, together with the local Weiman family at the helm, exported 90% of the plant’s production capacity. In 1968, Diplomat Distributors Ltd. was established to distribute the locally produced razorblades along with imported personal care products throughout Israel. While the manufacturing facility was eventually sold, the Mandel and Weiman families rapidly expanded Diplomat’s operations, turning it into one of Israel’s leading distributors of fast moving consumer goods, and cosmetics, and a global concern operating in Georgia, South Africa, Cyprus and New Zealand.
